Q: Why was this called God's passover?

A:The first Passover was called "God's Passover" because God instructed the Israelites to mark their doorways with a lamb's blood so an angel of death would pass over their homes while striking the firstborn in Egypt. The name signifies this act of divine protection and deliverance. The Hebrew word for Passover, Pesach, is related to this concept of "passing over" or "sparing".
