The terrible days of Egypt

Q: Why wouldn't Pharaoh let God's people go?

A:Pharaoh refused to let God's people go because of his own stubbornness and pride, compounded by the belief that Egypt needed their labor, which was amplified by God hardening his heart to demonstrate His power.

Q: Why did terrible things happen to Egypt?

A:From a biblical perspective, terrible things happened to Egypt as a series of divine judgments for its enslavement and oppression of the Israelites, its idolatry, and the pharaoh's prideful defiance of God. The events, most prominently the 10 plagues described in the Book of Exodus, served to free the Israelites and demonstrate God's sovereignty over Egypt and its pantheon of gods.
