Zechariah sees an Angel

  

Q: What did the angel tell Zechariah?

A:The angel told Zechariah that his wife Elizabeth would give birth to son named John who would be filled with the Holy Spirit and prepare the way the Lord.

Q: Why couldn't Zechariah speak after he saw the angel?

A: Zechariah couldn't speak because the Angel Gabriel struck him  mute as a consequence for his disbelief and questioning of the angel's message.
