Q:What is Passover (Pesach)? 

A: A major Jewish holiday celebrating God freeing the  Israelites from slavery in ancient Egypt as reconted in the Torah. 

Q:What does the name mean? 

A: It refers to the tenth plaue where God passed over the homes of Israelites marked with lamb's blood sparing their firstborn. 

Q: When is it celebrated? 

A:In the spring, tied to the Hebrew month of Nisan marking the start of their journey to freedom.
