David spares Saul's life

  



Q: Why wouldn't David kill Saul?

A: David spared king Saul's life primarily because he revered Saul as the Lord aninted as king believing it was sinful to harm someone appointed by God.

Q: How did Saul know that  David would be king?

 A: Saul learned David was to be the next king through direct prophetic rebuke observation of David's rising public favor.
