Q: Why wouldn't God answer Saul?

A: A: God did not answer King Saul because Saul had consistenly rejected God's commands, acting with disobedience stubbornness, and a lack of true repentance.

 Q: What did David do when he heard that Saul was dead?

 A: When David heard of King Saul Jonathan's deaths he tore his clothes mourned wept and fasted until evening with his men.
