   Q:Why was Saul gloomy?  A: King Saul was often gloomy, depressed, and plagued by an evil or distressing spirit that departed from the Lord.  Q: Why did Saul like David's music?  A: King Saul enjoyed David's music because it provided therapeutic calming relief from the torment of an evil spirit or intense anxiety that plagued him.

A: Saul's kingdom was taken away by God and given to David due to Saul's disobedience, specifically failing  to follow divine commands regarding the Amalekites and offering improper sacrifices.

    Q: Why did Saul offer the sacrifice?; A: Saul offered the sacrifice out of fear and impatience, as his army was scattering the  Philistines were gathering for battle and Samuel had not arrived at Gilgal by the appointed time.  Q: What did Samuel say would happen because of Saul's sacrifice?  A: Because King Saul disobeyed instructions and offered a sacrifice himself rather than waiting for the prophet Samuel. Saul didn't become king anymore.

A: Saul sought out Samuel or specifically called for him through a medium at Endor out of desperation because God would not answer him regarding the impending threat from the Philistine army.  Q: Did  Saul think he  was special? A:King Saul's perception of himself was  complex and contradictory, shifting from initial profound insecurity to later self deception and  narcissistic behavior.
